Today's Musing Mondays: "Last week we talked about keeping a wishlist. Why not pull out that list and show us some of the books you’ve been eyeing off?"
Well, let me see here. -loads up GoodReads- Wow! I have rather a lot more books on this list than I thought I did. I'll just put up the really good ones, shall I?
First, the standalones. These are the books that I've read and loved and need to own yesterday so I can press them into the hands of other people:
Elantris, by Brandon Sanderson
The Sparrow, by Mary Doria Russell
The Manual of Detection, by Jedediah Berry
And the series, which I want for mostly the same reason but also because I'll want to go back and read through them all whenever a new one comes out!
Thursday Next, by Jasper Fforde
Old Man's War, by John Scalzi
A Series of Unfortunate Events, by Lemony Snicket (Right, there aren't any new ones coming out, but they're so cute and short and I want them!)
Oh, hey, look at that, I have a birthday coming up soon... coincidence? Probably.

I hope you get some of those books for your birthday! I'm not familiar with any of them. If you want to wander down my road I’m home.
My birthday is tomorrow!!! Here is mine
The Sparrow is in my TBR pile.
I bought it after I read a glowing recommendation of it somewhere in BlogLand, as I tend to do.
Which explains the huge TBR pile and the tiny wishlist.
